Booth’s Breakfast: Dutch baby pancake filled with apples

My Breakfast: Coke Zero

Last night was date night. We took the blessed child to a friend and went to the city. We has an AMAZING Omakase menu at Bondi Sushi (I highly recommend this gem), then went an saw the very funny Jim Jeffries at the Beacon Theatre. We ate, we talked, we laughed our asses off. We don’t get a ton of date nights during the school year and this one may have to last til the blessed child is at summer camp. AFter we picked her up we all cam e home and stayed up late to watch SNL. Perfect night from beginning to end.

This morning Booth and the blessed child were sleeping in. We tend to have “Sweet Breakfast” at least one day on the weekends. The plan was a tube of store bought cinnamon rolls. However, I woke up at 7 and was itchy for something to do. I decided to make something I have never made before, but always wanted to try. A Dutch Baby pancake. I turned to the master chef of google and found a recipe on one of my favorite sites: Sally’s Baking Addiction. I don’t have a whole lot of fresh fruit in the house today, but we always have apples, so while the Dutch Baby was baking I found a recipe for sautéed cinnamon apples in butter, I used maple syrup to sweeten them instead of brown sugar. Once the apples came together I filled my puffed up dutch baby with the apples and served with fresh whipped cream when Booth and the blessed child finally woke up.
